The New Glass Now Exhibit focuses on the innovation and dexterity of artists, designers, and architects who work with glass. The artworks demonstrate the diversity of their makers, ranging from timely political commentary and investigations of the materiality of glass to explorations at the intersection of high-technology and the hand. The Corning Museum of Glass will offer a special tour of the exhibition “Glasss, Honey! The Corning Museum of Glass Pride Tour” that will explore the works that highlight queer artists and their work that involves LGBT issues. Tour dates are as follows: Sun, June 16 (as the capstone to the CorningPride event on June 14 & 15). Sat, June 29 – Wed, July 3. Additionally there will be a special 40 minute “Rainbow Make Your Own Glass” glassmaking experience available from June 1—July 7. Rainbow glassmaking projects include: Pride Flower, Pride Round Ornament, Pride Teardrop Ornament and Pride Suncatcher.
