CJS Vineyards & Aurelius Winery is a producer of fine Finger Lakes wines. As a small producer, they make and release limited case lots of dry, semidry, and semisweet wines. The wines are only available in the tasting room and select local restaurants. The vineyards were established in 1995, with a small planting of Riesling and Cayuga White grapes on the Fosterville Road site. In 1998, they added their first Chambourcin vines. Over the next several years more Riesling, Chambourcin and Pinot Noir were planted. In 2003 and 2004 they planted Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and Riesling on a site on the southwest side of Owasco Lake. This gave a total of three acres of vineyards. The small vineyards allow the winemakers to carefully tend the vines and harvest by hand, producing high-quality wine grapes. The tasting room offers a cool and relaxing atmosphere for you to enjoy the fine Finger Lakes wines. You’ll find personal and friendly hosts and you can meet the winemaker just about every weekend. Tours of the winery and vineyard are always available. The owners thoroughly enjoy sharing wine stories with many of the home winemaking customers, and provide information for those interested in growing grapes or making wine.
