An official Path Through History Site! This award winning museum features permanent and changing exhibits on local history, educational programs, a local history research library, and a museum shop. There are over 18,000 objects, 100,000 photographs and thousands of historic documents in the center`s programs and exhibits. Enjoy our Cemetery Scavenger Hunt anywhere in Tompkins County! Booklets can be printed and downloaded at or pick up a booklet from The History Center in Tompkins County on the Ithaca Commons and take some time to explore our Exhibit Hall. The Scavenger Hunt and activity set will take a little over an hour to complete, and can be done at any cemetery in Tompkins County (we have over 100 cemeteries within our county borders!). This self guided exploration is perfect for a fall afternoon adventure, family guided field trip, and outdoor distanced adventure for all ages (reading and writing comprehension necessary). Completed Scavenger Hunts can be brought to The History Center during our open hours (Thursday-Sunday) in October to claim your free local history prize! Recommended ages 8-108.
