An official Path Through History Site! The History Center in Tompkins County is a generation-to-generation education and research center focused on engaging the public with the history of Tompkins County (located in the ancestral and contemporary lands of the Gayogo̱hó:nǫ' Nation) and the Finger Lakes region. This award winning museum features permanent and changing exhibits on local history, educational programs, a local history research library, and a museum shop. There are over 18,000 objects, 100,000 photographs and thousands of historic documents in the museums archives and exhibits. The History Center is located within the Tompkins Center for History & Culture, a collaborative visitor center and event space on the Ithaca Commons.
