An official Path Through History Site! The historic lighthouse is a three story stone block structure that houses the Museum of Maritime and Regional History.The original Sodus Bay lighthouse was built in 1824 and served until 1870 when it was replaced with a new tower and keeper cottage. The lighthouse was used by the Coast Guard and other government united until 1901. Featuring a spectacular panorama of Lake Ontario, the site has exhibits on Sodus Bay and the Coast Guard.
