ABOUT

The Finger Lakes region runs from Rochester, NY at our west to Syracuse, NY at our east and from the Lake Ontario up north down to the Pennsylvania border. Within these 9,000-square-miles, you will find some of Mother Nature's best work. Each area of the Finger Lakes is connected to water - from the 11 glacial lakes that gave us our name, to the rivers, ponds, tributaries, waterfalls and the iconic Erie Canal.

With waterways everywhere, it's easy to Get On The Water! Our fishing is prime, swimming is unparalleled and boating can't be beat. Opportunities to go kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding are plentiful. And if you're looking to lounge lakeside, we have that too. Get On The Water is meant to help you choose your shoreline and explore the activities, accommodations and restaurants nearby.

Get On The Water is brought to you by the Finger Lakes Regional Tourism Council

The Finger Lakes Regional Tourism Council is a collaboration of the 14 Official County Tourism Promotion Agencies of the Finger Lakes Vacation Region - Cayuga, Chemung, Cortland, Livingston, Monroe, Onondaga, Ontario, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, Wayne and Yates. As such, we are the OFFICIAL Tourism Promotion Agency for the Finger Lakes Region deemed so by New York State.

Collectively we are a 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to leverage resources in order to maximize economic impact of tourism in the Finger Lakes.
