An official Path Through History Site! Visit an 1816 Federal Mansion and Carriage Museum, featuring a remarkable collection of over 100 horse-drawn carriages and farm implements on display. Guests can travel back in time as one of the knowledgeable docents leads visitors through the home to Gideon Granger, Postmaster General of the United States under Thomas Jefferson. Listen to stories of the four generations of Grangers who lived in this magnificent home from 1816-1830. 19th Century Law Office, museum gift shop and special events throughout the year, such as Derby Day in May, Arts in the Gardens in August, the Festival of Trees and Christkindl Market in November. Open May - October for guided tours 1-5 pm. Closed Mondays. Tours are given as guests arrive, and are customized, if possible, to specific interests.
