Mark Twain was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, alongside his wife, four children, and extended family members. The beautiful Victorian cemetery is also the final resting place of Ernie Davis, the first African-American football player to win a Heisman Trophy before losing his life to leukemia and Hollywood motion picture pioneer, Hal Roach, best remembered as the creator of Little Rascals.
