The National Soaring Museum is located in Elmira, where soaring in the US began. Dedicated to the history of motorless flight, the museum is home to the largest collections of historical and vintage gliders and sailplanes in the world, many which are extremely rare of one of a kind. Located atop Harris Hill, is sites next to the Harris Hill Soaring Corp., where glider rides are offered spring-fall, as weather permits. A trip through the National Soaring Museum presents the history of soaring in the US and celebrates Elmira’s role in soaring history.
